If you still had 60 votes, we wouldn’t be doing this on reconciliation, we would be doing it in the regular way we address legislation. Legislation through the House, legislation through the Senate, a conference committee, and then, obviously, a final vote. But they can’t afford a final vote because there’s 41 votes now, not 60. So the Senate is a major casualty of this process.”

“From the beginning, the core of this bill being put together in a hidden room, behind a hidden room, behind a hidden door on the Speaker’s side — on the Majority Leader’s office suite, brought to this floor on a Saturday afternoon. The tree was filled up, and we were told we had to vote on it on Christmas Eve. No amendments were allowed. Then it was taken over to the House, and the Speaker worked out the deals in the back rooms of her offices, behind hidden doors without any public input, as it was represented it would be. What happened? It passed the House without any amendments being allowed. Now for the first time we have a chance to make amendments and the position on the other side of the aisle is no amendments allowed, even if they’re good amendments. So I guess obviously they consider their promises to be an inconvenience. Obviously they presume the Republican Party is an inconvenience, the democratic process is an inconvenience. And it also appears, considering the opposition to this out in America, that the American people are an inconvenience and that amendments which make sense aren’t going to be allowed to be passed because they don’t want to send it back to the House of Representatives.”

CBS NEWS POLL APPROVAL OF HEALTH CARE BILL:
Approve:  37%
Disapprove: 48% (“CBS News Poll,” 3/18-21/10, P. 4)

CNN OPINION RESEARCH POLL APPROVAL OF HEALTH CARE BILL:
Favor: 39%
Oppose: 59% (“CNN Opinion Research Poll,” 3/19-21/10, P.2)

Despite strong opposition from the American people, Democrats pushed forward with partisan health care legislation filled with tax hikes, Medicare cuts, and premium increases. 

The American people have been ignored by their government and criticized by the left-wing media outlets.  The American people have been called terrorist by the very people WE put in office. 

The anger in America is due to bad policies imposed by a failed government.  The attacks on the American people will be remembered this November.
